Pastoral Care

In the ministry of pastoral care, we seek to be the presence of Christ with those who experience life’s challenging circumstances.  Sickness, death, economic hardship and other changes in life circumstances invite us to seek prayer, ask questions and wonder about God’s way in our lives.  By praying and caring for each other we seek to extend the love and power of God into each other’s lives.  You can call on pastors, elders, deacons and other gifted members of the congregation to walk with you.  Contact the church office or email your request to pastoralcare@woodynookcrc.org

Alpha

Alpha:  A Beginner’s Course

If you ever wondered what Christianity all about, Alpha is for you.  In a relaxed setting, we explore the basic story and principles of Christianity.  No question about life and God is seen as too simple or too hostile…questions like—Is there a God? Why am I here? Where did I come from? Where am I going? Want to know more, check out the alpha website http://www.alphacanada.org, contact the church office or email: alpha@woodynookcrc.org

Morning Break

Morning Break is a ladies Bible study that encourages us to pause from our daily routines to study God’s word and for some fellowship and to learn form each other’s life experiences and faith walk. We begin our season in October after Thanksgiving and finish sometime in April.
Each week we begin with opening devotions, then take 10-20 minutes for an icebreaker or game and then do our Bible study lesson. For more questions or concerns contact the church office or email: morningbreak@woodynookcrc.org

Small Group Ministry

People grow in small groups. Churches grow because of Small Groups. Small Group ministry is about 4 – 16 people getting together regularly for a common purpose. Often it’s to study God’s word but there are other purposes as well. Some are camping groups, exercise groups, hiking, book discussions, crafts, games, and fishing. The ultimate purpose of small groups is to get to know others more personally, care and support each other, and help each other grow.  Woodynook Church has a variety of small groups and everyone is welcome to participate please contact the church office or email: smallgroups@woodynookcrc.org for more information. What kind of small group would you change your schedule for?

We all experience challenges in life – times when we could benefit from the support of a caring Christian friend. Stephen Ministers provide the emotional and spiritual care we need when faced with a crisis or difficulty.
Woodynook church has twelve Stephen Ministers and we have ongoing training classes to expand this ministry. Please contact the church office or email for more information. To read more about Stephen Ministries please click here.
