Welcome to the Lacombe SERVE! We are honoured that you selected the WoodyNook SERVE and are confident that the Lord has great plans for us to serve Him and the people of Lacombe. For more information on the 2010 Lacombe Serve check out the Youth Unlimited website.
SERVE is a Youth Unlimited project that gives youth opportunity to join other students from around North America to serve in various locations throughout the world. Each October we develop a team that chooses one of over 50 locations to spend one week on building and restoring projects. Leaders and students come from all over to join your team in building community. This is one week that a person will never forget, as they set the time aside to join others in serving just as Christ taught us how. Each student and leader that has participated in the SERVE project has returned with refreshed perspective on community and a greater servant heart for those around them. This perhaps explains why the many sites fill up quickly over the years. For more info see www.youthunlimited.org and click on missions.

When to Arrive
Plan to arrive in Lacombe area during the afternoon of Saturday, July 17th. Registration will start at 3 pm that day at the Central Alberta Christian High School. If you will be arriving later than 5 pm on that Saturday please let us know.
What to Bring:
- Bible
- Money – you will need to bring money for
- Souvenirs
- Expense travelling to and from the project
- Jacket – the weather here is very unpredictable
- Enclosed Footwear – this is a requirement for all work sites!
- Towel and washcloth
- Sleeping Bag
- Pillow
- Air or Foam Mattress
- Personal Items – such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, shampoo, etc..
- Work Clothes (Enough clothes for 4 days)
- Shorts, Jeans, Shirts, Sweaters etc.
- Dress appropriately and modestly! Make sure what you choose to wear reflects the message that we are trying to portray.
- Alberta weather tends to vary so bring a variety of clothes – One minute it may be shorts and t-shirt weather then the next you will need jeans and sweaters
- Bathing Suit – one piece for girls and no Speedos for guys
- Hiking Shoes - Our day away we will be heading to the Rocky Mountains so plan to bring appropriate footwear for hiking.
What NOT to Bring:
- Cell phones
- Personal devices such as iPods, laptops, portable DVD players, MP3 players etc. The purpose of SERVE is to interact with other people and these electronic devices are not conducive to building community. When you arrive you can give them to the Host Team for safe keeping and retrieve them at the end of the week.
Drugs or Alcohol – this will result in a quick trip home at your own expense
